Unfortunate Rangers fan hit in head by Astros homer

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 9:00 p.m. ET

It would be an understatement to say Marwin Gonzalez's first at-bat of the season was a memorable one.

Batting in the third inning of Saturday's game vs. the Texas Rangers, the second-year MLB shortstop drove a 1-2 offering from Yovani Gallardo deep to right field and into the bleachers for a solo home run.

If Gonzalez scored a momentary thrill of victory with the result of that plate appearance, then a Rangers fan in the right-field stands experienced some of the agony of defeat.

Watch the video below to see the unsuspecting fan get hit in the head with the home-run ball.

It wasn't all bad for Texas fans. The Rangers went on to a 6-2 victory.
