Time for a rebuild?
The Brewers are off to a horrific start and while no team wants to give up before the calendar even turns to May, it may be time to start thinking about a rebuild in Milwaukee.
"There's a point where you may have to reset, retool," General Manager Doug Melvin said during a Thursday morning interview on 620-AM WTMJ, that was quoted by Brewers.com. "and those discussions take place a lot in the offseason, and currently, too."
There is still plenty of baseball left to be played, but if the Brewers do opt for a rebuild it may be best to start the process earlier rather than later.
If the Brewers continue to struggle over the next few weeks, the pieces may start to shift and the rebuild may start to take place.
"We need to see improvement. We can't be stale, stagnant," Melvin said. "I feel responsible, too. Managers don't pick the talent. We all have responsibility for what's happening."
