Tim Tebow drops incredibly selfish quote about only playing QB
Tim Tebow, now a member of the New York Mets organization, dropped a quote about why he isn’t playing football anymore that defies all talk of his humility.
It can safely be said that the Tim Tebow era has officially come to an end in the NFL. The former Heisman Trophy winner in college at Florida hasn’t played in a regular season game since 2012, spending preseasons in 2013 and 2015 with different teams before being cut.
During a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Tebow dropped this gem about why he’s not in the NFL right now:
“For me it’s always about pursuing what’s in your heart, what you love, what you’re passionate about, and I love the game of football but what I really love doing is playing the quarterback position.”
“I’ve had a lot of good opportunities to play another position but that just wasn’t in my heart. It wasn’t something I wanted to do. If I was going to make a change I’d rather make a change to baseball.”
There are about 30 quotes in the Bible that talk about pride and how it can be a downfall, with one in particular coming from Philippians 2:3, reading like this:
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourself.
Since Tim Tebow and many of his fans love to throw religion in peoples faces, I think it’s appropriate to point out just how much of a hypocrite Tebow truly is.
Instead of doing what was best for the TEAM and probably getting closer to winning a TEAM championship, Tim Tebow shows his true colors with a quote like that. Because you aren’t good at something, you’re going to run away and defy everything you preach about being a TEAM player?
Here’s hoping that his baseball career last about as long as his time in the training camps for either the Philadelphia Eagles or New England Patriots.
