DETROIT (AP) Tampa Bay Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier has left Saturday's game at Detroit in the fifth inning with an apparent left arm injury.
Kiermaier made a diving attempt to catch James McCann's shallow flyball, but he was unable to make the play. The 26-year-old outfielder then immediately headed back to the dugout, holding his left arm around the wrist area.
Kiermaier came into Saturday's game hitting .240 with five home runs and 16 RBIs on the season.
Desmond Jennings replaced Kiermaier in center field.
