The Arizona Diamondbacks have promoted right-handed reliever Yhency Brazoban to the major leagues, a source told FOXSports.com Tuesday.
Brazoban last pitched in the majors for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008. The 31-year-old exercised an out clause in his contract with the Texas Rangers on June 1, signed with the Diamondbacks soon afterward, and has posted a 2.70 ERA in 10 innings at Class AAA Reno.
The Diamondbacks have lost three straight to fall two games behind San Francisco in the National League West. Their bullpen, which ranks in the bottom half of the NL with a 3.94 ERA, has taken the loss on each of the past two days.
