Source: Brewers interested in Pedro Alvarez following Lind trade

Not long after trading their everyday first baseman, the Milwaukee Brewers have reportedly found a target to fill the void.

Shortly following a deal that sent Adam Lind to Seattle, FOX Sports MLB insider Jon Morosi reports that the Brewers have shown interest in former Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Pedro Alvarez.

Alvarez was recently non-tendered by the Pirates after eight years in their organization, the latter six of which were spent with their major-league club.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound 28-year-old would provide the Brewers with some hefty power in their lineup, as Alvarez has averaged 28 home runs and 80 RBI over the past four seasons.

However, his power comes at a cost, as he holds a lifetime .236/.309/.441 slash line with a 32.3-percent strikeout rate.
