Soriano out after being hit with pitch

Chicago Cubs left fielder Alfonso Soriano has left a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after being struck on the left elbow by a pitch.

Soriano, playing in career game No. 1,400, was hit in the top of the fifth inning by Arizona starter Edwin Jackson on Wednesday night, but stayed in to run the bases for three more at-bats. He didn't go out to left in the bottom half of the inning, replaced by rookie Tyler Colvin with what the team said was a contusion.

Soriano is hitting .275 with 14 homers and 41 RBIs this season.
