Talk about a nice day at the plate — for everyone.

Two California high schools combined for a record 95 runs Tuesday when Cuyama Valley scored 13 times in the seventh inning to earn a dramatic 48-47 victory against Coast Union in a fast-pitch softball game.

The previous mark, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations, was established when East Machias Washington Academy in Massachusetts beat Lubec 88-6 on April 28, 1983.

According to The Tribune in San Luis Obispo, Coast Union's Morgan May hit for the cycle and finished with 14 RBIs, but her team still dropped to 0-16.
