Despite losing on Sunday, Kyle Kendrick pitched well for the second straight time. He only allowed one run in seven innings in Los Angeles on Sunday after only giving up two runs in seven innings in Anaheim earlier in the week. Kendrick lowered his ERA from 8.73 to 6.70 over the course his two starts in Southern California.
Rockies beat writer Thomas Harding quotes him on his struggles in April:
"I flushed April," Kendrick said. "Besides Opening Day [seven scoreless innings] it was not a good month, one of the worst in my career, for sure. I'm glad it's May. I'm feeling better throwing the ball.”
