Rockies' Kendrick giving up HRs at a record pace

Published Jun. 3, 2015 5:41 p.m. ET

Not only has Rockies pitcher Kyle Kendrick been giving up a lot of runs -- he currently has a 6.55 ERA -- he also leads the National League in home runs given up at 15 through 11 starts. According to Rockies Zingers, that puts him on pace to tie Bert Blyleven’s record for most home runs given up in a season with 50.

It’s probably still too early in the season to put much credence into such a high number, but the trend is certainly disconcerting, especially since Kendrick plays his home games at Coors Field. Last year Kendrick gave up 25 home runs, and the high for his career was 26 in 2010.
