Published Dec. 6, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

Detroit Tigers infielder Brandon Inge escaped injury Tuesday when he was involved in a multi-car accident in Michigan, WXYZ-TV reported.

Wet weather conditions were said to be a contributing factor when Inge's vehicle reportedly slid through a four-way stop before hitting at least five cars in Freedom Township, just west of Ann Arbor.

No major injuries were reported and no citations were issued by police, Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department told WXYZ.

Police said at least five other vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred at 7:30 a.m. local time.
