The Astros have reportedly agreed with the Braves on a deal that sends catcher/outfielder Evan Gattis to Houston in exchange for three prospects.

The prospects are right-handers Michael Foltynewicz and Andrew Thurman, and third baseman Rio Ruiz. Foltynewicz is the Astros No. 3 prospect according to Baseball America's prospect rankings. Rio Ruiz would replace Kyle Kubitza as the Braves top third base prospect, as Kubitza was sent to the Angels in a recent trade netting Atlanta left-hander Ricardo Sanchez.

In Gattis, 28, the Astros would get four years of team control and a potential 30-HR man at a time when power is down throughout the game, according to FOX Sports MLB insider Ken Rosenthal.

The Braves have maintained that a deal is not yet finalized even though it was reported that Gattis was in Houston Wednesday for a physical. If that is the case, a trade agreement must already be in place and the commissioner's office must already be notified before a team consents to a player having a physical.
