Reds' Byrd set to begin rehab assignment

Marlon Byrd – out with a fractured right wrist – isn't quite ready to rejoin the Reds, but it appears he's getting closer.

According to Reds.com, Byrd will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Pensacola on Wednesday.

"That's really good news," Reds manager Bryan Price told Reds.com. "For all the things we've talked about in a negative way in regards to injuries, he has healed quickly. He's done a lot of really good, positive work without any setbacks."
