The Texas Rangers did not exercise a $9 million option for Vladimir Guerrero, yet the American League champions could bring the slugger back next season.
Guerrero gets a $1 million buyout under the agreement he signed before last season.
General manager Jon Daniels says the option was a way to ensure some extra money for Guerrero this season.
Daniels said Wednesday that the team has already had spoken to the 35-year-old Guerrero and his agent.
