GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) The spring training game between Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds on Thursday was canceled because of rain.
Right-hander Anthony DeSclafani had been scheduled to pitch for the Reds and left-hander Ross Detwiler for the Rangers.
Cincinnati planned to start right-hander Johnny Cueto against San Francisco on Friday, with Tim Hudson on the mound for the Giants.
Texas left-hander Derek Holland starts Friday against Seattle, which goes with left-hander Roenis Elias. In the Rangers' other split-squad game, right-hander Anthony Bass pitches against the Dodgers in San Antonio. Left-hander Erik Bedard is to start for Los Angeles.
