Pirates make a series of roster moves

The Pirates 25-man roster looked a little bit different on Sunday as the team welcomed two new faces into the dugout.

Pittsburgh designated Jose Tabata and Chris Volstad for assignment and called ip Gorkys Hernandez and Steve Lombardozzi, according to Pirates.com.

The Pirates had been working with an eight man bullpen, but now the team has seven relievers and five bench players.

"It was naturally going to happen at some point in time," Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said. "We decided to go ahead and make that move to rebalance it today."
