Pederson's great start reminiscent of Piazza

Joc Pederson might be the most-heralded Dodger rookie since Mike Piazza. He’s putting up numbers even better than Piazza did in April of his rookie year of 1993. The former Dodger had a slugging percentage of .520 that April and a .354 on-base percentage. This April is almost over and Pederson is slugging .556 and has a .458 on-base percentage -- due in part to his 16 walks which rank second in the National League and which are equal to the number of hits he has.

Pederson was on base three times with a home run, double and a walk on Monday night to help the Dodgers beat the Giants. He also made a fantastic back-handed catch in center field which started a double play.
