Padres put OF Quentin on DL

The Padres put outfielder Carlos Quentin on the 15-day disabled list with a strained knee before the second game of their series against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night.

It's the second significant setback to San Diego's lineup this week. All-Star shortstop Everth Cabrera was suspended for 50 games for taking a banned substance. The switch-hitting leadoff hitter leads the NL with 37 steals.

Quentin missed the last seven games with the injured right knee, which wasn't improving. He was batting .275 with a team-leading 45 RBIs and 13 homers, second to Will Venable for the team lead.

Outfielder Jaff Decker was called up from Triple-A Tucson. The left-handed hitter batted .293 with nine homers and 38 RBIs for Tucson. It's his third stint with San Diego this season.
