Nava returns to Red Sox from paternity leave

Daniel Nava returned from paternity leave Thursday and was in the Boston Red Sox lineup, starting at first base and batting seventh against the Kansas City Royals.

The Red Sox optioned right-hander Steven Wright, who was 2-0 with a 5.40 ERA in four games, to Triple-A Pawtucket. Nava is hitting .282 with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs in 96 games.
