Nationals put OF Jayson Werth on DL, recall INF Wilmer Difo

Nationals left fielder Jayson Werth has been put on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised left wrist after getting hit by a pitch.

Washington also recalled infielder Wilmer Difo from Double-A Harrisburg.

The Nationals announced the moves before Tuesday night's game against the New York Yankees

Werth was hit on the wrist Friday against the San Diego Padres. His second stint on the DL this season is retroactive to Saturday.

Difo is considered one of the Nationals' top prospects and recently was promoted to Harrisburg, hitting .308 in 52 at-bats.
