Mets receiving little relief from lefty specialist O'Flaherty

The New York Mets are riding a six-game hitting streak, own the biggest division lead in the National League and are mashing opponents into submission.
So it's easy to overlook a few warts, right? Not if you're Mets manager Terry Collins - even with a 6 1/2-game lead in the NL East.
The one blip on New York's radar following Wednesday's 9-4 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies was the onging struggles of left-handed reliever Eric O'Flaherty, who had another rocky outing in his ninth appearance since he was acquired from the Oakland Athletics.
Summoned from the bullpen to protect a six-run lead, O'Flaherty was unabled to get through the eighth inning and wound up charged with three runs on a pair of hits. O'Flaherty has allowed runs in five of his ninth outings and left-handed hitters are batting .444 against him since the trade.
“He’s got make some consistent pitches but the stuff’s coming,” Collins said. “We got to get it shored up.”
