SAN DIEGO (AP) Adeiny Hechavarria had four RBIs and the Miami Marlins had a season-high 19 hits in a 13-4 rout of the San Diego Padres on Monday night.

The Marlins built an 8-1 cushion by the third inning and eased to their third win in five games.

Wei-Yin Chen (4-2), who had never faced the Padres, allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk. He struck out seven as he won for just the second time in eight starts, despite giving up four solo home runs.

Colin Rea (3-3) was battered in the shortest start of his career, surrendering eight runs and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings.

The Marlins, who scored their most runs of the season, seized control with their seven-run third, sending 12 batters to the plate in chasing Rea.

The big blow was a three-run triple by Hechavarria over Jon Jay's head in center.
