LOS ANGELES (AP) Taijuan Walker has pitched six hitless innings for the Seattle Mariners against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night.
Walker lost his bid for a perfect game when Ketel Marte committed a throwing error on Kaleb Cowart's grounder with two outs in the sixth. First baseman Dan Vogelbach failed to pick Marte's low throw out of the dirt.
Walker is perfect otherwise. He has struck out seven, including five straight during one stretch, and thrown 79 pitches.

Walker has struggled since being recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in late August, going 1-3 with a 7.23 ERA in four starts.
The 24-year-old has never thrown a no-hitter before.
