Mariners' Miller named A.L. Player of the Week after blazing performance

Brad Miller, the Seattle Mariners shortstop-turned-outfielder-turned-explosive-hitter was rewarded for a recent hot streak by being named the American League's Player of the Week on Monday.
Despite not really agreeing with the team's decision to start using him as a 'super utility'-type player, he's excelled offensively over the past week. To wit:

While he may not agree with manager Lloyd McClendon's preference to use him anywhere but shortstop, one thing is certain based on his recent performances:
The Mariners have to be encouraged by what they've seen from Miller as a hitter lately.
