The Seattle Mariners have activated left-hander Charlie Furbush from the 15-day disabled list and optioned reliever Shawn Kelley to Triple-A Tacoma.
The team announced the moves Friday night before playing the Minnesota Twins.
Furbush had been on the DL since July 18 with a strained left triceps. He was hurt the previous day in Kansas City when he retired the only batter he faced. He is 4-2 with a 2.17 ERA and has been one of Seattle's most effective relievers this season.
Furbush made five rehab appearances with Tacoma, posting a 6.00 ERA with seven strikeouts.
