DENVER (AP) D.J. LeMahieu singled to stretch his on-base streak to 10 plate appearances for the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday before he struck out to end the first inning of a game against the Washington Nationals.

LeMahieu lined a single to left field off Stephen Strasburg during a seven-run first, then struck out looking after Colorado batted around.

It was the first time Washington retired LeMahieu during this three-game series. LeMahieu was 4 for 4 on Monday and 3 for 3 with a walk Tuesday. He also walked in his final at-bat Sunday against Philadelphia.
