Kazmir good to go, will make next start Friday for A's

The Oakland Athletics appear to have dodged a bullet with lefty Scott Kazmir, as he's been given the go-ahead to make his next start this Friday against hte Boston Red Sox.

Kazmir left his last start with 'shoulder tightness' and underwent an MRI.

Prior to the A's game with the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night, manager Bob Melvin told Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area and the rest of the media that Kazmir's MRI results showed just 'a bit of a weak shoulder'.

So far in 2015, Kazmir is off to a strong start for Oakland: though his record is just 2-3, his ERA is 2.93 across ten starts.

Should Kazmir remain healthy, he'll presumably be a viable trade option for any contending clubs seeking a quality left-handed starter...but, of course, that's only relevant if general manager Billy Beane decides to become a 'seller' and trade away the team's most desirable trade assets. That may not happen, though.

Whatever may happen in the future notwithstanding, the club has its solid and dependable #2 ready to get back out there on Friday.
