Oakland Athletics right fielder Josh Reddick is an unabashed Golden State Warriors enthusiast, having been at Oracle Arena for the Warriors' Western Conference Finals-clinching Game 5 win over the Houston Rockets and hung out with Klay Thompson in the A's clubhouse a few days later.

So it's only appropriate, then, to have somebody ask him for his insight into this season's Finals matchup, pitting Stephen Curry and the Warriors against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. John Shea of the SF Chronicle was that 'somebody' on Thursday, after the A's completed a three-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.

The A's settled into their hotel rooms in Boston on Thursday in time to watch Game 1, but before the game Reddick told Shea his thoughts on the never-ending LeBron vs. Michael Jordan debate - and added a clever twist to the classic film Space Jam in the process: “It’s a good story. Nothing would please Warrior fans and the Bay Area more than to see the Warriors take down LeBron (James). Dethrone him. As good a player as Lebron is, he’s not unbeatable. He’s not Michael (Jordan). When’s the last time LeBron saved the earth from an alien race?”

During the game, Reddick also had a few things to say about the tense Game 1 affair:

With Game 2 coming up on Sunday, the timing of the game and the A's travel plans could presumably give Reddick another opportunity for commentary, so here's hoping he does just that.
