John Lackey wasn't exactly thrilled when he was removed from Tuesday's game, but the pitcher and the manager have since had a talk and resolved the difference of opinion, according to Cardinals.com.
“He gets where I am coming from,” Lackey told Cardinals.com. “I get where he's coming from.”
Matheny called on Peter Bourjos to pinch-hit for Lackey and both parties said that if it was the American League, Lackey likely would have stayed in the game.

However, the Cardinals needed an offensive boost and Lackey gets the move.
“If Peter gets on base, he can steal two bags,” Lackey said. “If I get on base, what the [heck] am I going to do? Stand there?”
