Hammel's 2-year deal worth $7.75 million

Jason Hammel's two-year contract with the Colorado Rockies is worth $7.75 million.

Hammel gets $3 million this season and $4.75 million next year. He made $1.9 million in 2010, when he went 10-9 with a 4.81 ERA.

Hammel had an up-and-down season last year. He strung together a 28 1-3-inning scoreless streak but also struggled with a dead arm in September. He has had no setbacks in his winter throwing program.
