WASHINGTON (AP) Veteran left-hander Rich Hill will start for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Washington Nationals in Game 5 of the NL Division Series.
The Dodgers made the announcement Thursday morning, less than nine hours before the scheduled 8:08 p.m. EDT first pitch.
Hill getting the start on short rest comes as no surprise. Manager Dave Roberts says it's fair to expect a combination of the 36-year-old Hill and young lefty Julio Urias in the decisive Game 5.

The Nationals beat Hill in Game 2 as he allowed four runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings. Hill, who has dealt with blister problems, has never pitched on three days' rest after a start.
Cy Young Award candidate and 20-game winner Max Scherzer starts on regular rest for Washington.
