LOS ANGELES (AP) The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting a new voice as their public address announcer this season.

Todd Leitz takes over from Eric Smith on Saturday when the Dodgers host the Angels in the last Freeway Series exhibition game.

Smith was replaced after 17 years because he couldn't fulfill the season schedule due to other commitments.

Leitz works as a spokesman for MySafe:LA, a public education partner of the city of Los Angeles and its fire department. The 51-year-old announcer previously spent 12 years working as an anchor and news reporter in local radio.
