Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez named NL Player of the Month for April
Adrian Gonzalez had a historic start to the month hitting five home runs through the Dodgers’ first three games of the season, including a three-homer game. He finished the month with eight homers to lead the National League. The first baseman led the majors with a .790 slugging percentage in April, and he hit .383 with nine doubles and 19 runs driven home. He reached base at least twice in each of the first 10 games of the month to start the season. This is the first time Gonzalez has been named NL Player of the Month, but he was previously named AL Player of the Month in June 2011 for the Boston Red Sox.
