Coco Crisp shares 'good news', may return to A's soon

Published Apr. 28, 2015 4:57 p.m. ET

Oakland A's outfielder/offensive spark plug Coco Crisp hasn't played yet in 2015 due to arthroscopic elbow surgery to remove a bone spur and chips, but he's apparently ahead of schedule with his rehab.

Originally projected to be able to return to the A's within 6-8 weeks of Opening Day, Crisp hit Instagram (as he does often these days) on Tuesday to drop some good news: he's heading out on a rehab stint soon.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle followed up on Crisp's post with a bit more of an update in terms of a timetable:

Should Crisp not have any setbacks, he would presumably slide back atop the lineup in place of outfielder Sam Fuld, who has anchored the spot for much of the season's first couple of weeks.
