The St. Louis Cardinals and high school pitcher Tyrell Jenkins, a supplemental first-round draft pick, have agreed to terms.

Jenkins, a right-hander who was picked 50th overall, threw a bullpen session at Busch Stadium on Friday before the Cardinals played the Cubs. He'll report to rookie league Johnson City, Tenn.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Jenkins was a top quarterback recruit at Baylor, lettered in basketball and ran a 49-second quarter mile in a relay this spring for Henderson, Texas, High.

He led the school to its second straight District 14 4A championship, going 8-2 with a 2.33 ERA with 96 strikeouts in 54 innings, while also batting .417.
