Brewers get reliever Kintzler back in bullpen

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers have activated right-handed pitcher Brandon Kintzler from the disabled list, reinforcing a bullpen off to a strong start.
Kintzler had been sidelined since April 9 with a strained rotator cuff. Manager Ron Roenicke said he will likely ease Kintzler back into his role as one of his primary setup men.
Milwaukee had the second-lowest bullpen ERA in baseball entering Thursday at 2.52. Kintzler is 1-0 and hasn't allowed a run in his five appearances this year.
The Brewers optioned right-hander Alfredo Figaro to Triple-A Nashville to make room. Figaro pitched once, going three innings Tuesday and allowing Chase Headley's homer in the 12th inning of a 2-1 loss to San Diego.
The Brewers are off Thursday and open a three-game set Friday with the Chicago Cubs.
