Brewers call up INF Irving Falu from Triple-A

MILWAUKEE (AP) The Milwaukee Brewers have called up infielder Irving Falu from Triple-A Nashville.
Right-hander Jimmy Nelson was optioned back to Nashville on Sunday after earning his first major league win in a spot start for the injured Yovani Gallardo.
Nelson worked 5 2-3 scoreless innings against the Marlins in Miami, striking out six. He gave up five hits and walked three in his 2014 debut.
A 30-year-old utility infielder from Puerto Rico, Falu appeared in 24 games for the Kansas City Royals in 2012, hitting .341 with six doubles and seven RBIs. Falu was hitting .288 in 38 games in Nashville with one home run, eight RBIs and seven stolen bases before his call-up Monday.
