Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun has left Thursday night's game against the San Diego Padres in the fifth inning with a soreness in his left shoulder.

Braun, the NL leader with 12 homers, flied out to right field for the final out of the fifth inning. Carlos Gomez then came into the game in center field in the bottom of the inning with Mark Kotsay moving to left field to replace Braun.

Braun extended his hitting streak to nine games with a first-inning single.
