Beltre swings, misses from knee, then does something remarkable
When Adrian Beltre swings a bat, the Texas Rangers slugger puts everything — and we mean everything — he has into it.
A good example is his seventh-inning at-bat during a 10-1 victory in Oakland on Thursday afternoon (See video above; if expired, watch video here).
On a 1-1 pitch from A's reliever Evan Scribner, Beltre took such a powerful swing, he spun around on one knee, screwing himself into the ground.
The dramatics caused his Texas teammates to share a good laugh in the dugout. Hey, they were leading the A's 8-0.
But never count out Adrian Beltre!
He usually gets the last laugh and that's just what he did on the next pitch, basically taking the same cut, but this time connecting for a homer from his knee.
The homer was Beltre's first of the season and the 396th regular-season blast of his 18-year career.
However, it's not the first time he's "kneed one out of here."
Beltre has popped a couple out with his unique swing from the knee, including the below homer from the 2011 World Series.
