PITTSBURGH (AP) Pitcher Josh Beckett was activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Los Angeles Dodgers to start Tuesday night's game at the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Beckett had been sidelined since July 7 because of an impingement in his right hip. The right-hander is 6-5 with a 2.26 ERA in 17 starts and pitched a no-hitter May 25 at Philadelphia.

Left-handed reliever Paco Rodriguez was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, four days after his recall. He has a 5.40 ERA in 8 1-3 innings over 12 games with the Dodgers this season.
