Bank of lights go out at Nationals Park - twice

WASHINGTON (AP) A faulty bank of lights twice went out at Nationals Park on Friday night, causing the game between Washington and the Los Angeles Dodgers to be delayed on each occasion.

The first delay came in the fourth inning and lasted 1 hour, 22 minutes. After play resumed, nine minutes later the same bank of lights on the third-base side went out.

The players promptly walked off the field. The second delay lasted 40 minutes.

Los Angeles led 2-1 in the middle of the fifth inning when the second stoppage occurred.

Both starting pitchers were forced out of the game because of the first outage. Although Mike Bolsinger of the Dodgers came back after the first delay to get two outs, he was removed for a pinch-hitter the next inning.

Washington's Jordan Zimmermann never returned after the initial outage.
