Houston Astros owner Jim Crane has filed a lawsuit against the former owner and two media companies, alleging they misrepresented the value of a regional television network that broadcasts team games and fraudulently boosted the $615 million price he paid for the team.
The lawsuit, filed in state court in Houston on Thursday, accuses former Astros team owner Drayton McLane Jr., Comcast Corp. and NBC Universal Media of fraud, misrepresentation and conspiracy. The suit also accuses McLane of breach of contract.
In his lawsuit, Crane says he was misled about the subscription rates cable providers would pay to broadcast Astros games.
