Astros' Lee not in lineup after missing workout

Published Jul. 16, 2010 11:29 p.m. ET

Carlos Lee is being held out of the Houston Astros' lineup because he missed the team's workout Thursday at PNC Park.

Astros manager Brad Mills on Friday says the team felt it was necessary for Lee to go through the baseball exercises he missed Thursday before he plays Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates,

Lee, the Astros' cleanup hitter who leads the team with 45 RBIs and is tied for the lead with 12 home runs, was the only Houston player to not participate in what was officially a voluntary workout.

Lee says the pilot who was to fly him back to the United States from Panama had his license expire earlier this week.
