A's manager Bob Melvin, meanwhile, says he's excited to have Davis on his team. Judging by his willingness to speak his mind, Davis also has a reputation now as being a 'personality' in the clubhouse, which could serve well on the A's now that the chatty, personable Brandon Moss is in Cleveland.
In Ike Davis, Oakland has a player eager to prove himself after a few tumultuous years. That can sometimes be the perfect setup for a strong 'comeback' season.
