A's closer, girlfriend buying tickets to fill stands at LGBT Pride Night

The Oakland A’s are hosting their first LGBT Pride Night this year, and not all season-ticket holders want to go. Luckily, the girlfriend of A’s closer Sean Doolittle came up with the perfect solution.
Eireann Dolan, who has two moms who are die-hard Oakland fans, wrote in a blog post Friday that although she “was saddened to read some of the replies about their decision to have a night of inclusion for the LGBT community,” she and Doolittle will gladly buy the tickets of anyone who doesn’t want to go in an effort to fill the stadium.
“Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs and as long as nobody is getting hurt, I’m happy,” Dolan wrote. “I also can’t stop you from selling your tickets. I won’t tell you that you are wrong or that you are not allowed to think or act that way. … If attending a baseball game on LGBT Pride Night makes you at all uncomfortable, it is probably a good idea to sell your tickets. And I have the perfect buyer. ME!”
Dolan and Doolittle are going to donate tickets to the June 17 game against the San Diego Padres to the Bay Area Youth Center’s Our Space community for homeless LGBTQ youth. Dolan also started a GoFundMe page, and as of Wednesday night, had collected more than $18,000 that will go toward tickets and donations.
Dolan’s hard work has paid off, too, as the A’s already opened up two extra sections of seating in reaction to all of the donations.
