Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds was hit in the helmet with a pitch from the Washington Nationals' Collin Balester in the sixth inning Tuesday night, but he got up and walked off the field.
Reynolds, who turned 27 on Tuesday and had homered earlier in the game, went down right away after the pitch hit him. He was on the ground momentarily, then got up on his own and was removed from the game for a pinch-runner.
Reynolds went back into the Diamondbacks' clubhouse. A report on his condition has yet to be announced.
