Altuve feels 'great', wants to get back in Astros' lineup

Jose Altuve missed his third straight game on Monday night with a hamstring issue, but the Houston Astros' second baseman is ready to get back out on the field.

He expressed as much on Monday night to Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle, adding, “I feel great. I want to go back out there and help the team. It’s not easy to be sitting in the dugout watching my guys play hard. I want to be out there with them. "

While he and the team were encouraged by the speediness of his recovery from the hamstring strain suffered last Friday, Altuve acknowledged the importance of caution in this situation: "I'm going to do everything to go out there and play (Tuesday), but with this thing you got to be smart. Hopefully we can go ahead and do something for the team tomorrow."
