2 minor leaguers suspended for drug violations

NEW YORK (AP) Minnesota Twins pitcher Logan Lombana has been suspended for 80 games and Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Clinton Hollon for 50 games under baseball's minor league drug program.

The commissioner's office said Tuesday that Lonbana tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing substance Ibutamoren. Hollon tested positive for a second time for a drug of abuse, triggering his second suspension.

A 21-year-old right-hander drafted from Long Beach State in the 25th round last summer, Lombana has a 3.38 ERA and no record in seven relief appearances this year for Cedar Rapids of the Class-A Midwest League.

Hollon, a 21-year-old right-hander selected in the second round in 2013, was 4-4 with a 3.32 ERA in 14 starts and four relief appearances for two minor league teams last year. He was suspended for 50 games on Aug. 21 after testing positive for amphetamine, a banned stimulant. He is on the roster of Lansing in the Midwest League but has not pitched this year while finishing the first suspension.

There have been 43 suspensions this year under the minor league program.
