Sources: Michigan leaning toward hiring Jim Hackett as full-time AD

Don’t be surprised if Michigan interim AD Jim Hackett actually keeps that job for quite some time. Multiple sources tell FOX Sports that they now believe Hackett will retain the job and there won’t be any AD search at Michigan.

Hackett is a 1977 UM grad and former Wolverine player under Bo Schembechler who later became the CEO of Steelcase Inc. He replaced Dave Brandon a few weeks ago.

It was expected that Michigan would soon need to conduct searches for a new AD and for a replacement for head coach Brady Hoke, but word is now there might not need to be an AD search for a while.

Among the challenges facing Wolverine athletics is a new president who sources say knows virtually nothing about sports.

The 5-6 Wolverines travel to Ohio State to face their archrival in hopes of getting bowl eligible.
