The FSU football defense is off to one of the worst starts in school history. They gave up 35 points against USF, and ‘Noles fans aren’t happy about it.

South Florida came into the game averaging near 50 points a game, but had not played a team with the caliber of athletes that FSU football has.

That didn’t matter to USF as they torched FSU on the first play of the game for a 84 yard touchdown. They also marched right down the field and scored on their second possession as well.

The defense settled in after that, holding the Bulls scoreless in the second quarter and only giving up a touchdown late in the third quarter.

However, USF scored touchdowns on back-to-back possessions to make the game appear closer than it really was.

It didn’t take long for FSU fans to voice their displeasure via social media:

At times the FSU defense at least looked competent, although it was helped out by the USF quarterback missing open throws as well. Coach Jimbo Fisher could be seen yelling something at FSU defensive coordinator Charles Kelly on the sidelines at one point during the game.

One wonders what will happen if the defense continues to give up explosive plays at such an alarming rate.

What would you do if you were Jimbo Fisher?
